After reading all the blogs about facebook, I felt inspired to post myself. I would say that I am a mediocre "facebooker". I rarely post anything and the only reason I got one in the first place was so that I could communicate with the friends I met while traveling around the world. Facebook has some great benefits, but when you use social networking sites you HAVE TO be careful what you do, say, or post, because that information can be easily found and exploited. For instance, in my teaching program a student teacher decided that they would post stuff concerning their master teacher and students, all stuff that wasn't professional or kind. That student teacher got kicked out of our program. He ruined his future career, because he made bad choices on Facebook. This is all stuff we must think about when we decide to interact on Facebook. The fact is that it is a privilage to have this type of technology at our fingertips and we must be careful and responsible with it.
Also, don't let Facebook rule your life. Life is so short and you can't live it through a website. Be active, have fun, and enjoy your friendships and family. The truth is that Facebook is an alternative reality, and the things that people do and say on the site don't always truly represent the real world , so don't let them affect your REAL life.
